Transitioning
Ah...life! A lot has happened since I’ve last written. Many transitions. The most notable being that my fiancé and I have ended our engagement. I am very thankful that our love and respect for each other is allowing this transition to be a peaceful and compassionate process...for the most part. I ‘m not going to lie...there have been times I’ve found it extremely difficult and painful to part from the love we’ve shared, the life we’ve built and the hopes and dreams for our future together. But what brings me peace through this process is remembering that just because this chapter of our lives is ending doesn’t mean the love we have for each other, and for those surrounding our relationship, must also end. Realizing that our relationship can continue to grow even though we aren’t pursuing a future commitment together helps take the sting out of our separation.
Difficult times like these are amazing opportunities for personal growth. I've learned so much about myself in the past few months. I've also learned that where I am in my wellness practice directly determines how well or badly I handle the day to day challenges that arise.
Aside from boosting my wellness practice, I've found that letting go of the traditional views of love and relationships and taking extra time to nurture myself is helping me to move through our separation with an open heart. That, and having a fiancé who works from the same set of principals has made this separation...kind of beautiful. The years we spent together were incredible and I will be forever grateful for the time we shared. I love you, Nicolas Del Pesco.

My heart will never fully mend. We somehow lived a lifetime in three years. Thank you for not falling out of my life and for not forgetting how wonderful we were. Because of you I have known true love.
