2/18/11 TREATMENT: Acupuncture 2nd Treatment at CAMA

I wish I had gotten a chance to video this visit, but I wasn't able to.

I had my second Acupuncture treatment related to Fibromyalgia and stomach issues on Friday 2/18.  I treated with Pam from CAMA.  She assessed my body and at one point dug her fingers into my stomach and asked how I felt.  It HURT and I told her so.  She then searched for 2 points--1 on my leg and one on my hand? I forget...and she held the points, kind of rubbing them.  Then she dug into my stomach in the same spot and it wasn't even painful.  It was really amazing.  She did it a few more times with different points on my stomach and each time the painful part disappeared as she rubbed the different points that were connected to my stomach pain.  She instructed me to rub the little indent next to the shin bone with a downward motion when I do my abhyanga in the morning.  Apparently that movement has the ability to loosen up stagnant energy in the stomach region. Pam said that anyone experiencing digestion problems should do that same downward rubbing motion to assist digestion.  I really enjoyed my session with Pam.  After my first meeting with Elise, the owner of the center, I decided I was going to treat for 6 weeks and see how I feel at the end.  I'm excited to see what happens! Pam seemed confident that she can help me "fix" my stomach. My stomach HAS been feeling better...but I have been eating my homemade yogurt a lot as well.  I guess time will tell!

Pam didn't put any needles in my stomach because she felt it was just too tight.  She put needles in my arms, hands, feet, knees and shin area, and one needle in the top of my head...I liked that one especially...it has a sedating affect.

The day after the treatment I had the same "side-affects" as before: Painful Fibromyalgia episode the next day, grumpy, general not feeling great.  Feels like toxins running through my body.   In addition, I had an awful earache.  It was so intense it caused me to become unbalanced and I heard things through a chirp...that's all I'm going to say about that...Oh, except for my good friend, Maria, made me an ear bandage with a sea salt hot compress.  I'm thinking it worked because the ache is gone! One less pain to worry about.   :)
