1/13 & 1/14 Thurs. and Fri. Weird Idea & Mom's Moving
I'm combining these two days because I don't have enough relevant material to post 2 separate posts.
So last night I woke up with tension throughout my body again. This seems to be a regular thing, lately. Whenever I wake up I realize I need a sip of water because it's so damn dry (and COLD) during the winter here. This time when I did this very normal action that I do at about 3-4 times every night, I must have done something differently because I pulled a muscle in my chest. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it was such a painful experience that I sat, clutching my chest like I was 90 and trying not to breath because the pain was worse than the lack of oxygen. It felt like someone placed a nail dead center in my chest plate and started hammering away. When I regained composure I maneuvered out of the bed, coddling my newly tweaked muscle, and made my way to the bathroom. It was during this short walk to the bathroom at 4:30 am that I came up with the weird idea to record soothing statements onto my phone and set them as alarms to go off throughout the night, in hopes that I can ease my muscle tension subconsciously while I sleep. Something like..."I am completely relaxed and at ease," or "My body is healthy and pain free." It's totally weird and I kind of feel like a pervert getting off on my own relaxation recordings...but, it's worth a try. I'm going to try it tonight. Let you know what happens!
Notes from Thursday: Went to bed at 10:15 last night. Woke at 5:10am. Exhausted. Stomach was very uncomfortable... Did Abhyanga. Yoga for 50 minutes, A.N.B. for 5 minutes, Meditation for 15 minutes. Charlie came and lied in between my legs for Savasana. I got my regular 7 hours of sleep but I was so tired I fell asleep after my morning routine...thank you, my wonderful fiance, for taking Luke to school and making it possible for me to nap!
My mom is moving to Louisville, KY tomorrow...will miss her terribly, but I'm happy for you, mom & Jim! My gramma is taking us all out to dinner tonight for one last get together. Luke picked out his outfit for the occasion, and then we drove through 1 1/2 hours of traffic to to the Bay Pony Inn in Harleysville. (Food below) Really wanted wine after the long drive...had dessert instead. Got home at 11:00 and in bed by 11:30. Really don't feel bad at all tonight. Pain is good...or very minimal. Mood is good, but a little sad. Stomach is a little weird from all the combinations in my stomach, but could be worse.
Notes from Friday: Mom's moving day. Woke 7:00, let Luke sleep in b/c he was exhausted from last night. Stomach feeling not too bad! Pain--aside from feeling like my chest plate was cracked into 2 ...just a little stiff. Spent the day with mom, Jim and the movers in the freezing cold. It was today, after those hours in the cold that Nick and I decided we just could not live forever in Philadelphia. The cold is just too oppressive.
Food Thursday 1/13/11 : Rice and Shine for breakfast, Whole Foods Rotisserie for Lunch,
Dinner: Bay Pony Inn: I had hot tea, ate about 4 pieces of totally white french bread and then Luke and I shared the duck with rice and vegetables...then we had dessert... I had a bite of egg nog creme brulee, and half of a chocolate gateau with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious and terrible of me!!!
Food Friday:
1/14/11 Went completely off the diet again today and even ate 1/4 of a jelly filled donut from Wawa...which was crazy. Breakfast, Rice and Shine with raw milk, Mana, (coconut flesh in an oily spread), rice milk and Maple Syrup. Lunch: Indian at Saffron restaurant in Ambler: Lamb Roganjosh with Rice and Vegatables and Garlic Naan...so good but now I have indigestion.
7:30 Snack: Chocolate
I am totally off my diet at this point. While my stomach feels acidy, it does NOT feel bloated like it normally does. Pain is not noticeable until I focus on it, and my mood is good. Lazy, but good.

Joy- A friend of mine (Richard Fishman on FaceBook)sent me a product called Nopalea- it's a fruity drinkable which is s'posed to have miraculous healing/pain relief powers. Check it out. It's not cheap, but might be something that you could become a rep for (should go well in your health/ayurvedic/yoga circles). (http://nopaleajuice.com/)
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely try it. Do you like it?
