1/18/11 Tuesday Yoga Practices are getting me down

I hate to even say that.  Yoga doesn't get me down.  It's my practice that has me feeling disheartened.  In yoga we are supposed to start where we are with no judgment about our bodies/minds. I am normally pretty good at this, but lately I have been getting very worried that my body will never be the same as it was.  I used to be strong.  I could move with ease throughout my practice and my breath flowed perfectly in tune to my movements.  Well, not "perfectly" but what used to be flowing is now just huff puffing.  And I am so weak I can barely get through a 60 minute yoga session.  I see my body changing, not for the better.  Today I mentioned to Nick how I've lost my ass and he confirmed it.  He said, "I've noticed it getting flatter."  :(  He wasn't being mean at all.  He's just not the sort to deny the obvious.  I've been practicing pretty much every day and I am not seeing improvement.  I tire easily, my muscles hurt and my legs are so incredibly stiff...actually all of me is just really stiff. My ability to become a teacher seems to be getting further and further away.  Feeling sad.

Notes from the day: Stomach is still unhappy.  Acid is less but present.  Achy all over body.  (back is not terrible though.) Stiffness in legs is just unbearable.  Freezing rain last night a contributor?  Mood: blah but could be worse.  Didn't take any supplements today.  Did 45 minutes yang yoga session.  Was good but felt drained at the end.  No meditation or pranayama this morning.  Will try to do later tonight.  With regards to the weekend, Nick and I had some amazing alone time.  We had hours to ourselves all last night and this morning and spent them mighty well.

Food:  Upon arising I took my morning hot water with 1 TBS of coconut oil.  Hoping this will help my stomach.

Lunch 11:30 2 organic egg omelet with raw cheddar cheese and avocado + 2 pieces gluten free toast with earth balance butter.
Dinner: 5:00 Left over Chicken soup with kale.
Snack: Hot tea (cherry cinnamon from Twinnings)  with raw honey and gluten free ginger snaps.
