1/15/11 Saturday: MCFA's to treat Alzeheimer's, Dementia, Epilepsy, Autism and Viruses--Where do you find them? Coconut oil.

Saturday morning.  Went to bed at 1:00 am last night.  Woke up at 8:30 feeling blah so stayed asleep until 9:45 when I decided, unwillingly, to get up and out of bed.  Wonder if I feel this way because of my poor eating habits over the past few days.  My stomach feels like shit, but it should be feeling worse, considering what I have been eating.  My body feels pretty good!  No pain, only that familiar stiffness in my joints.  But even that seems to be feeling better.  It's hard to tell...is it getting better or am I just getting used to it?

The soothing sayings I was going to record for my subconscious in bed hasn't worked out yet.  I tried to record them, but the mic on my phone must be really messed up because every time I said a word with an "s" (muscles) or "x" (relax) sound there was a terrible garbling static sound that was anything but soothing or relaxing.  I'm really interested in seeing if that does anything for my tension.

Regarding MCFA's (Medium Chain Fatty Acids) I started taking coconut oil as a supplement because the cousin doctor I talked to said Klebsiella bacteria does not like the coconut oil (in an Armenian accent).  I figured I would research the reason for this and found some really interesting articles on coconut oil significantly helping those with Alzheimer and Dementia, Autism, Seizures, as well as viruses and other illnesses.  Supposedly it helps with weight loss as well.  Apparently coconut oil (and palm kern oil also, to a degree) contains Medium Chain Fatty Acids that break down to Lauric acid in the body which is one of, if not the only substances that can weaken the fatty outer layer of certain hard to treat viruses (like Aids, herpes, etc.) and bacteria (like mine, Klebsiella) making them much more susceptible to treatments.  I read that this is the reason Klebsiella is so resistant to antibiotics...because the antibiotic cannot penetrate that fatty protective outer "shell" of the Klebsiella.

Alzheimer's: This link is by a doctor whose husband suffers from Alzheimer's. They had tried all the medications for Alzheimer's with no success, and before taking coconut oil he could not even remember what a clock looked like.  He tried to draw one from memory and couldn't.  Heartbreaking.  You can see his before and after coconut oil clock drawings at the end of the article.  (Please email me if you would like this information.  I couldn't get the link to work because it is in PDF form.  joyswellnesstrip@gmail.com)

Epilepsy: This link talks about brain function and how coconut oil supplies the body with tools needed to make ketones, which are important regarding Alzheimer's, epilepsy, and Autism.   http://doctorvolpe.com/alzheimers/coconut-oil-alzheimer%E2%80%99s/

Autism: This link talks about the Ketogenic diet and how it greatly helps children and people with autism. http://www.autismcanada.org/ketogenic.htm

hemp balls recipe below

I just started using as much coconut oil as possible in my meals.  I been stirring about 2 TBS of coconut oil into my morning Rice and Shine, and about 2 TBS of it into my Dal. My stomach still feels bad, but I have been eating like shit all weekend.  Maybe I should try the Ketogenic diet in conjunction with my Klebsiella fighting supplements (the caprylic acid, olive leaf, grape seed oil and other stuff.) Going to see my doctor first and see what she has to say.

Recipe for Hemp balls made with coconut oil and coconut manna at the end of this page.

Notes from the day:  Unfocused, tired, stomach is better than usual lately.  Going off the diet this weekend for wine and gluten just to see what happens!!  Watched The Last Exorcism with Nick last night.  Not terrible...It kept me  interested but the ending was kind of weird.

1:45 Lunch late:  Had dal with butternut squash, fennel, onions and spinach.  Prepared it with coconut oil. :)
2:30 Coconut Hemp Balls
Recipe:  1 part coconut oil, 1 part coconut manna, 1 part hemp protein powder, 1 part hemp seed (shelled) 1/2 part honey or pure maple syrup.
5:30 more of the Dal from lunch.  RED WINE!  Aged gouda cheese with dates, fig jam and crackers.  Sooooo good.  And a chocolate to follow.
9:00 pm  Many handfuls of pita chips and more red wine.

10 pm Think the wine is bad for me.  I am feeling pain.  I think I felt pain the last time I drank wine.  Red wine is my favorite.  :(

  1. exciting to hear about the coconut oil!

If I may put my two cents in... I think every time you change something up, you change too many things at the same time. The only way to see if something affects you is to change only that ONE thing. Like ONLY drink the wine or only try the coconut oil. Sort of like the elimination diet, where you eliminate just about everything and then add things back in one by one till you find the culprit.

    Good luck!

  2. You know...I've been thinking that too. I'm going back to a gluten, corn and night shade free diet until I see my doctor on Monday next week. (Keeping the coconut oil.) This seems to at least keep my pain somewhat stable. The next thing is to get rid of the klebsiella. So upon my doctors approval, I will try cutting most carbs out of my diet to see what happens. Then add one thing at a time from there.

Thanks so much for the input! And if you have any more down the road, it is much appreciated!
