1/2/11 Monday -- Beginning Again

8:15 Wake up way later than I was supposed to.  Stomach felt terrible all through the night.

The second thing I’m noticing this morning is the pain in my boobs.  They hurt and they are huge.  This is no ordinary PMS.  Well, not for me, anyway.   My normal PMS consists of a large, painful lump in my left breast (Fibrocystic “disease”) being slightly overly sentimental, and perhaps a little more angry about typical aggravating circumstances.  My period itself goes for 2 days with a 2 day break then lasts 2 more days.   As periods go, it is blissful.   Gone are the post child periods spent doubled over and crawling to the bed.  And good riddance!  But with my current cup size measuring a D, up from a B, I am wondering if the periods of past will be coming back to haunt me.

Feeling so tired and painful.  I don’t even know how to make it through this day.  My boss is coming in this Thursday so I have way more work than I am ready for.  If anyone is reading this, send me your energy!
3:00  Too much pain and exhaustion.  Need to take off work for a half hour to rest my body.  I am so lucky that my bosses are so incredibly understanding and supportive.  Would send you a shout out but since you’re public figures who like their anonymity, please consider this as a public thank you. :)

FOOD:

9:45  Breakfast .  Supposed to eat around 8am.   2 egg omelet with spinach, leeks and feta.  Decaf coffee with cream.  The cream was pasteurized and probably not okay.  2 pieces of black bread with lots of Earth Balance butter.   Should be cutting gluten back out of my diet since my pain level is back to where it was.   I’ll start again tomorrow when the black bread is gone.   Have to check to see if Earth Balance is okay…I can’t imagine eating Ghee on toast.

1:40 Lunch way too late.  From Whole foods, chicken and cheese tamale, bad but so good, and grilled zucchini.

2:25 Snack  (Really? A snack? 45 minutes after a big lunch? Not good.)  Gluten free peanut butter cookie (gluten free made it okay in my mind) and tulsi green tea with raw honey.   Feeling bloated and tired.
For dinner I made Chicken soup with Kale, Fennel, carrots, leeks and ginger.  I cooked it in the new pressure cooker Nick bought me for Christmas so it only took about 45 minutes.  I am in love with my pressure cooker.   For dessert I made an Apple Crumb with turbinado sugar and an almond flour and oatmeal topping baked in a cast iron pan.   We ate it hot with cream.  It was delicious, but I walked away too stuffed and broke the “don’t eat after 7” rule…finishing dessert around 8:45pm.
